Supporting families with disabled children in Waltham Forest
SEN Discussion Group
WFPF has set up a Special Education Needs (SEN) discussion group which meets regularly throughout the year with the borough SEN Inclusion Manager to discuss SEN strategy and issues of concern to parents and carers of disabled or addtional needs children and young people in the borough.
Meetings are hosted by WFPF and are attended by Andrew Beckett - Head of Inclusion SEN Team LBWF who provides updates on work taking place in the borough involving SEN.
SEN discussion group meetings are held at the WFPF Office, 92 Leyton Green Road, Leyton E10 6DA.
The next SEN Discussion Group meeting will be held on Monday 28th April 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM.
SEN Reform / Code of Practice 2014
WFPF will also be hosting events throughout 2014 on the SEN Reform / Code of Practice which will be introduced in September 2014. Forum members will also receive updates via email and newsletters.

FREE Parent Conference - SEN Reform / Code of Practice
Information event with speakers involved in developing the Code of Practice both nationally and locally. The aims of the conference will be to inform parents about changes that will take place in 2014 with regard to education, health and social care services as part of the new SEN reforms and how they are being implemented in Waltham Forest, to give parents an opportunity to discuss changes with other parents and professionals and to feed into work being carried out on the Local Offer & Education, Health and Care plans in Waltham Forest.

Time - 6.30PM-8.30 PM (canapés / refreshments from 6 PM)
